I had never been to Mackinac Island before, so Dave along with Jack and Barb decided to make an outing adventure. We flew over on to the island where you can only arrive by plane or boat. Once you are there the only way to get around the island is horse or bike. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the island. It is the craziest thing I've ever seen. There are all kinds of beautiful old homes, shops, restaurants, hotels and old fort and lots of horses!

We were picked up at our plane by a horse drawn carriage Taxi. It took twice as long to get to town from the airport than it took us to fly to Mackinac Island. We stayed at a charming hotel on the harbor. But the highlight was haveing cocktails on the porch at the Grand Hotel. Fortunately, we were there before 6 becasause after 6 pm it is mandatory for women to be in dresses and men to be attired with both coat and tie!
